How Tinnitus Control Changed My Life – Tinnitus Treatment & Curing Ringing In Ears

by Lisa Billingsley

My tinnitus started as a low buzzing noise that would stay for a day or two and then go away. Obviously at the time, I didn’t know that I had tinnitus, I didn’t even know what tinnitus was!

Let me tell you a bit about myself. I’ve spent most of my 20s and early 30s working various jobs in the bar/night club scene. Looking back, I’ve had temporary bouts of tinnitus before, even in my twenties, but I always wrote it off as just my “head ringing” from listening to too much loud music the night before. It just started as a low buzzing that would usually go away after a day or two away from the club scene.

How Tinnitus Took Over My Life

About 2 years ago, I had landed a new gig as an assistant manager in a new L.A. Night Club. Things were going really great, but this club was louder than any other club I had ever worked at. Near the end of my first week there, I got off work at 4 a.m. and went home. As usual, there was a buzzing noise in my head, but this time it was different. My head was completely throbbing, like I was still at the club, and there was a sharp ringing noise that would rise and fall in pitch, but it was always there.

I couldn’t fall asleep that night, the ringing was just too loud. I finally fell asleep at 10 in the morning, and when I woke up in the afternoon, the thumping was gone but the ringing in my ears was still there. I still went into work that night, but I quit after about a week. I started to make a connection between my work and the constant buzzing and now the loud ringing in my ears, and I knew I had to make some changes.

I went to multiple ENT doctors in my area. I sadly started to realize (as you probably have, since you are reading this), that the doctors didn’t really know what was going on when it came to tinnitus. They basically told me I had mild hearing loss from my years of working in the club scene (strangely my hearing seemed perfectly fine), and as for the tinnitus I just had to “learn to live with it”. I got two things out of my doctor’s visits, one was a huge bill, the other was that I learned that my condition was called tinnitus.

After my visit with the doctors, I started to do a lot of research on tinnitus. Reading through medical journals and studies, I didn’t find anything helpful. Looking online, I found a lot of tips and ideas for curing tinnitus that got me excited…at first. I read that changing my diet could get rid of tinnitus, so I experimented with cutting out various items from my diet. I stopped drinking coffee, I stopped drinking alcohol, I even cut out most of the sugar from my diet. It didn’t make a difference for me.

I also read that taking painkillers could stop tinnitus. Now, I’m not completely doubting the first hand experiences I read. Maybe it works for some people, and it definitely can’t hurt for you to try. For me though, it didn’t do anything. Zilch. Nada.

I was pretty desperate at this point. I didn’t want to live like this. Tinnitus had crippled my career, and I was having an impossible time focusing during the day. I had to crank up the radio at night to help me sleep. I noticed that ambient noise seemed to temporarily relieve the symptoms, so I took a job waitressing in a restaurant, since it was impossible for me to focus in any job that required quiet concentration.

How I Finally Cured Ringing In Ears & Got Tinnitus Relief

I apologize for rambling a bit, but I wanted to share my story in case anyone else suffering from Tinnitus could relate. I remember about 3 months into my waitressing job, I was still desperately trying to find a tinnitus treatment that worked. By that time, looking for tinnitus treatments online had become a regular routine, but I was also getting less and less hopeful of finding anything that would work to get rid of the ringing in my ears.

While participating on an online message board for tinnitus sufferers, I came across a post talking about an over the counter medication that had supposedly helped a lot of the forum members with their tinnitus. Thinking I had nothing to lose, I ordered a bottle. The packaged arrived with a little bottle that I was supposed to spray under the tongue, as well as a bottle of capsules.

I read that it can take a few weeks to even a couple months to take effect. After a couple weeks, I had pretty much lost hope that it would work, but since I still had plenty left in the bottle, I kept applying the oral spray as instructed and taking the pills.

To my surprise, I noticed at around the 3 week mark, that the ringing in my ears was actually getting quieter! It was amazing! After another week, the ringing had pretty much completely subsided. I finally had my life back, though I’ve been extremely paranoid about being around loud noises since, for fear that something my trigger my tinnitus and bring it back. This medication was Tinnitus Control.

How Exactly Does Tinnitus Control Work?

I’m not an expert by any means, but from my understanding based on my months of research, the basic idea is that Tinnitus Control works by improving the health of the cells in the inner ear. Since tinnitus is a symptom of an underlying condition usually caused by damage to the cells in the inner ear, by delivering a high concentration of Zinc and other important minerals to the bloodstream, Tinnitus Control helps the body naturally heal the damage that is causing the Tinnitus. (Note: If your Tinnitus is caused by hearing loss, Tinnitus control can’t help your hearing, just with relieving the Tinnitus itself).

So, that’s pretty much where I am today. I still take the Tinnitus control spray twice a day, just because I’m paranoid of having to go through that whole ordeal again, but for most people I don’t think its necessary.

I also wanted to note that there are lots of different causes of tinnitus, so even though myself and some others have experienced great success with it, there is always a chance that your tinnitus may be caused by something that Tinnitus control cannot help cure. I personally highly recommend Tinnitus control, and I would definitely suggest you give it a try if you’ve been struggling with tinnitus and you want a tinnitus treatment that has been proven effective. I know it has given me my life back, hopefully it can do the same for you.

Thanks for giving me the opportunity to share with you my struggle with Tinnitus.
